Wholeness: How To Be The Love You’re Looking For In The World
For this week’s episode of What You’re REALLY Hungry For, author, motivational speaker and personal trainer JJ Flizanes inspired us to start loving ourselves once and for all.
It sounds easy enough, right? But in reality, we forget to love ourselves the same way we love our own children, parents, siblings, spouses and partners — with compassion, forgiveness and understanding.
We wake up criticizing ourselves instead of complimenting ourselves.
We go to the gym out of desperation rather than self-empowerment.
We allow negative self-talk to become the automatic reactions to life events.
But there’s a different way, a completely loving way, to treat yourself.
It’s not easy, but it’s TOTALLY POSSIBLE.
After learning JJ’s tips and techniques on how to embrace self-love, you had some great questions for me. Head on over to listen this week’s Q&A to hear my answers now!
- Are there times when, instead of just loving myself, it would actually be better for me in the long run to be harder on myself?
- A long time ago, I did something regretful to deeply hurt someone I love. That person still refuses to forgive me, and therefore I cannot forgive myself. How do I love myself again?
- Cynthia, what do you think about the saying, “That’s just life”?
- The saying “You’re the creator of your own reality” makes total sense, but as much as I try to live with purpose, self-love and kindness, the reality I experience is not the reality I want because of hurdles and adversities that are beyond my control. What are some mental shifts or exercises I can start working on to truly trust the process of life?
