For this week’s episode of What You’re REALLY Hungry For, I talked to Roy Nelson, the awe-inspiring author of Love Notes From Hell who lost 120 pounds and overcame a myriad of addictions, as well as depression, panic attacks, and fears. And WOW, did he have some profound things to say (things you hear and never forget)!
We can all relate to a certain degree. There is something we all rely on when things get tough, whether it’s sex, alcohol, or gossiping. Which is probably why you all had so many questions! I selected the ones that I got over and over and over… and answered them for you!
- Roy mentioned that most addicts are very sensitive. In your opinion, is sensitivity a negative quality? And what can I do to let go of things that upset me?
- What’s the best way to support someone close to us who is struggling with addiction, since it’s such a personal and spiritual journey?
- Is it always considered addiction when you choose to use something (alcohol, etc…) to relax or de-stress or is there a time it’s okay?
