3 Easy Ways to Jump Start Your Weight Loss

Over the years of working with clients who lost a lot of weight and managed to keep it off, there is one thing they all had in common - their thoughts. We now know the the mind and body have a super strong connection and the absence of that connection can send your diet into a tail spin faster than a visit to the candy store!
Here are 3 easy ways you can jump start your weight loss using only your mind:
1. Plan your meals in advance - Planning our meals and putting them into writing lowers the chance that we’ll deviate from that even when faced with temptation. Each week, write down your meal plans for the next 7 days and stick to them!
2. Keep a journal – Keep track of your small victories (“passed up the chocolate chip cookie tray at work!”) and reflect on them when you’re not exactly feeling motivated to continue on your healthy eating plan. You’ll reinvigorate yourself which will make you want to keep up the healthy habits.
3. Repeat after me: You. Do. Not. Have. To. Be. Perfect. – Most people think with one slip-up, their healthy eating plan is down the drain. This is absolutely not so! Stop beating yourself up. Just say to yourself, ‘Hey, it happens to the best of us’ and then eat fewer calories at your next meal so that you’re back on track!
These are a few tips to get you started. It’s important to keep a healthy, positive attitude and know that you’re in this for a lifetime, not just the summer.

1. Eat 4-5 smaller meals throughout the day.
2. If I’m going to splurge, I do it early in the day. This way I have the rest of the evening to work it off by walking my dog.
