What You’re REALLY Hungry For – Season 1, Episode 005
Perfection: How Having It All Is Sometimes Too Much
Have you ever tried to “have it all”?
Did it leave you feeling like you were fighting a losing battle?
I used to think that if I could just create a checklist of everything I needed to do every day and just mark things off the list as the day went on, I could, in fact have it all.
I mean, how hard could it be?
I saw women on reality shows who looked amazing, went shopping every other day, had drinks with their girlfriends, ran a business, wrote a blog, and were home every night to put the kids to bed before having a candlelight dinner they had prepared from scratch with their husband and then heading off to a charity function later that night.
Now, I’ve always been determined (read: stubborn). So, I thought, “If they can do it, so can I!”
Every morning I worked on checking things off my list that would allow me to be a great mom, a supportive wife, a loyal friend, a successful business woman, a loving daughter and sister, and a contributor to the community.
And by every afternoon I felt like a complete failure.
How did they do it?
Why couldn’t I?
Clearly there was something wrong with me.
If you’ve ever felt this way, you will love today’s episode of What You’re Really Hungry For.
My guest is Gina DeVee and looking from the outside in, Gina appears to be one of those women that has it all figured out. But does she really?

Loved this video! My one take away is to get back to setting my intention for the day every morning when I get up. I got away from that and need to get myself back to it. Thanks for the positivity you put out in the world!
That is an AMAZING intention, Stephanie! Thank you for sharing, and being a part of the positivity!
I will let go of the believe of perfection by forgiving myself for past mistakes.
Beautiful, Brenda!
My current path is to figure out what I want and then do it after 45 years of doing what made others happy so I really appreciated this video. I am going to work on taking that step back and really asking myself what it is I want and not worrying about being perfect.
Beautiful Laurisa!!! It’s your time! Please do keep me posted on what’s happening with you!
Loved the video! I believe it’s all about taking small, positive steps. I loved when Gina said that she didn’t sacrifice her sleep. I am going to start there and track the progress. Thank you for sharing your incredible passion.
We all need that sleep reminder!!! (Isn’t it amazing how different your day is after a good night’s sleep?!) Thanks for watching Anne!
