How I Start My Day

How I Start My Day to Be More Productive, Calm, Healthy - How to Start A Healthy Day

Morning sunshine!

It’s a gloomy day here in Los Angeles and I’m sitting down at my desk to tap into the Source and allow the magic to happen. (Yes, that was deep.  That’s how I roll.)

My little one didn’t exactly get a good night’s sleep (when will this end?!) but I’m here, showing up, ready for all the gorgeous blessings this day has in store.

I was just thinking  about the way most of us start our days and how that sets the mood for everything else that happens to us.  If we wake up late, scramble to get out the door, fight traffic while juggling a cup of coffee and bagel, throw ourselves into work – you know the drill – chances are your entire day will be hectic and you’ll be frazzled.  Not sexy… or healthy.

Instead, how about deciding that tomorrow morning (and all future mornings) will be different.

I am by no means perfect but I thought I would share how I start my day in hopes it would give you some ideas for creating your ideal wake up, do your makeup, give it to me world day!

Wake up - with my little one, my hubby and usually at least 1 of our 3 cats snuggled in.  With any luck, baby slept well and we didn’t have to do the endless floor walk (parents, you know what I mean)

Refresh - with a cup of hot water and freshly squeezed lemon.  This flushes toxins, boosts energy, and clears my head.

Meditate / Breathe – to clear my head, set my intentions for the day (I control it, it doesn’t control me.), and open a channel for all the beautiful brilliance, love, and abundance the Universe has in store for me to come through.

Twist & Turn - with yoga.  I focus on the intention I set earlier and spend some time nourishing and healing my body and my mind. (And working out the kinks where baby slept in my arms all night – ouch!)

Cleanse - with a warm shower and my detoxifying body wash.  This time is about washing away my cares, worries, and frustrations that I’ve been holding in and creating a beautiful space to thrive.

Dress - because going out in LA naked – while sometimes done – isn’t recommended.

Brekkie - depending on how busy I am and how much sleep I got (aka what time I woke up) breakfast ranges from steel cut oats with berries (typically reserved for the weekend when I have more time) to a yummy, scrummy smoothie.  It usually includes SoCal Cleanse Organic Protein +Detox, hemp oil, frozen berries, coconut milk, spinach, and nutritional yeast.  Sometimes I throw in a banana.

Do Thy Work – in my office, in my client’s home, on set, or wherever else my calling takes me.  The awesome thing is that I am calm, clear, focused, and know exactly what I need to do today.  Sometimes it works out exactly as I’ve planned, usually it doesn’t.  But, I always take these twists and turns in stride and roll with the punches.  I have to remember that even the Universe changes its mind.
