Gwyneth Paltrow keeps herself in great shape with regular workouts, especially those led by her favorite trainer, Tracy Anderson. But her latest role in Iron Man 2 was the force behind an even more intense shape-up:

“My trainer, Tracy Anderson, basically, like, pummeled me into submission and made me do all kinds of crazy things. She really changed my body for this movie,” Gwyneth told Us Weekly.

Us Weekly says that Gwyneth gained 10 pounds of muscle for the role. Her routine included plenty of  high-intensity dance aerobics.

Now that Iron Man 2 has wrapped, Gwyneth is back at home and easing up on the exercise. Still, she’s keeping fit :

“If I’m home with my kids, I still like to do it [workout] every day, but I don’t go as crazy. I will do cardio one day and legs another day.”

What do you think of Gwyneth’s routine? Have you ever upped your workout intensity to prepare for a big event?
