It may be too early to celebrate a sea change in model size, but it looks to me like some small changes are afoot. This week New York Times writer Cathy Horyn said of the Fall 2010 runway shows: “ Between Miuccia Prada in Milan and Marc Jacobs at Vuitton we saw the return of the lush, full-hipped woman…”
Along the same lines, Glamour just shot its June cover with a trio of models: plus-size model Crystal Renn, Sports Illustrated cover girl Brooklyn Decker and Victoria’s Secret standby Alessandra Ambrosio- in a tropical locale. I’m guessing from this Twittered snapshot that the models will be baring their bikini bodies on the cover. I’m thrilled to see Glamour mix it up with their models- not to mention feature a model like Crystal Renn who represents the size of an average women. Well done! Can’t wait to see the June issue!
