4 Easy Ways to Cut Calories

4 Easy Ways to Cut Calories

We’re all looking for quick and easy ways to cut calories so here are 4 more quick and easy ways to add to your healthy lifestyle!

1.  Don’t let it in the house – If it’s not around, you can’t eat it!  We all get cravings from time to time and the easiest way to avoid giving into them is to not have junk foods in the house!  Most cravings usually attack on an average weeknight when we’re exhausted and indulging in our favorite sitcom.  If all we have to do is head to the cabinet and pull out that bag of chips, we’re much more likely to give in to that craving!  BUT… if there are no chips in the cabinet, we’re probably not going to drive out and get some.  Make sense?  Good!

2.  Don’t buy your food where you buy your tires – It’s so tempting to pick up that snack pack or quick treat when you’re running into a gas station but don’t give in!  These snacks found in these places are loaded with fat, processed ingredients, sugar, and calories.  Pay at the pump whenever possible and if you do have to go in, get in and get out!

3.  Judge food by its cover - If your food is packaged in layers of cardboard or plastic, it’s most likely anything but healthy!  Frozen dinners and processed foods are full of  sodium, sugar, trans fats, artificial colors and flavors, and preservatives.  Plus, the perflurochemicals in food containers have been shown to be unhealthy.  Avoid the unwanted additives and chemical souffle and choose a food that can be packaged in its own skin instead!
