She doesn&#8217;t eat too much food and she doesn&#8217;t do too much exercise. Although, in preparation for the Golden Globes, she worked out with her trainer, Gunnar Peterson twice a day &#8211; while still enjoying her deserts. <img src='http://www.cynthiapasquella.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  She says she doesn’t like to workout AND diet so she will only do one or the other at one time. How much do we love her attitude?!</p>
<p>She also swears by moderation and uses portion sizes to keep her on track.</p>
<p><strong>How You Can Do It Too:</strong><br />
You can use something you have with you all the time to find the portion size that&#8217;s right for you &#8211; your hand. It&#8217;s directly proportional to your body and super simple. I call this the “Hands On” approach. Fun, right?! <img src='http://www.cynthiapasquella.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Here are the guidelines you want to remember:</p>
<p>- Your thumb is about the size of 1 oz so use it for measuring cheese<br />
- The palm is about 3 oz so use it for meat serving sizes<br />
- A cupped hand is about the size of 1/2 cup so you can use that for grains</p>
<p>Two cupped hands hold a serving of leafy salad greens<br />
A clenched fist is the ideal serving size for a piece of fruit</p>

Michelle Williams follows the <a title="5-Factor Diet" href="http://www.5factor.com" target="_blank">5-Factor Diet</a>, created by celebrity trainer <strong>Harley Pasternak</strong>. The diet consists of eating five meals a day (breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, mid-afternoon snack and dinner). Each meal is made up of a healthy carb, a healthy fat, 5-10 grams of fiber, lean protein and a sugar-free beverage. And, they&#8217;ve made it easy by offering a meal delivery service &#8211; which Michelle took advantage of to help her prepare for the Golden Globes. She also does the 5 Factor workouts which focuses on 5 different workouts 5 days/week.</p>
<p><strong>How You Can Do It Too:</strong><br />

When all the dishes are done, they’re divided up and put into Tupperware bowls and everyone shares. You go home with a ton of meals ready to put in the fridge or freezer so you have healthy meals in minutes all week long!</p>

<p><strong>Fall has arrived</strong> and in Los Angeles that means sunny days with a crisp breeze and the intoxicating aroma of roasted root veggies at the farmer&#8217;s markets.  It also means my little girl is turning one in a few days!  Where does the time go?</p>
<p>In an effort to avoid tears and reminiscing over the last 12 months (I can get emotional), let&#8217;s focus on the food.  I&#8217;ve put together a list of five fat-burning fall foods that will keep your lean and mean summer physique completely in tact.  Enjoy!</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Apples</strong> &#8211; This basic fruit seems like a great place to start.  It&#8217;s packed with fiber which will curb your appetite and keep you fuller longer.  Plus, they&#8217;re super convenient and a perfect snack when you&#8217;re craving something crunchy.  Don&#8217;t discriminate!  Go for red, yellow, and green apples alike.  Remember, an apple a day keeps the pounds away!</li>
<li><strong>Pumpkin</strong> &#8211; While they can be pretty scary once carved, pumpkins can also frighten away the pounds!  They&#8217;re packed with fiber and help curb sugar cravings for hours.  I love to bake it and then puree it with avocado, pumpkin pie spice, and a bit of liquid stevia for a low-calorie pumpkin pie in a bowl!</li>
<li><strong>Kale</strong> &#8211; This green powerhouse is packed full of nutrients and fiber.  It&#8217;s also rich in chlorophyll which is naturally cleansing and promotes fat loss.  Toss it into a salad or bake it with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of sea salt for delicious chips!</li>
<li><strong>Parsnips</strong> &#8211; These carrot like veggies are yet another fiber-rich way to blast hunger and sustain blood sugar levels for hours on end.  You can bake them, roast them, steam them, or grill them &#8211; whatever suits your fancy and they&#8217;re delicious!  We like to slice them super thin and bake them as chips. Delish!</li>
<li><strong>Butternut Squash</strong> &#8211; This beauty is low in calories, has no fat or cholesterol but is rich in fiber.  It also has moderate amounts of carbs and protein making it a perfect food for busting fat!  I love it in a rich soup but my personal fave is butternut squash ravioli with a bit of sage.
